Pelham Planning & Zoning Commission discusses proposed Silver Ridge development

By DAVE DOMESCIK | Staff Writer

PELHAM – The Pelham Planning and Zoning Commission held a special called meeting on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 28 to once again discuss the proposed Silver Ridge development.

68 Ventures, the developer of the project, and Engineering Design Group, the project’s engineer, all had representatives at the meeting to field a request for preliminary plat approval for all phases of the project.

The development will be situated along Highway 11, and will contain 307 residential lots and a three-acre commercial lot.

Chloe Kelly, a representative of 68 Ventures, began her address to the commission by stating little changes have been made to the proposal since it was last brought to the commission.

“There hasn’t been any changes to the proposed configuration of the site,” Kelly said. “We have added additional sub phasing, so there will be a total of seven phases across the 307 lots.”

Kelly added that the project will have a six-year buildout and that construction on the site is set to begin in the late third quarter to early fourth quarter of this year.

The Pelham City Council previously unanimously passed the rezoning request needed for the development at a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Nov. 18. Pelham residents were previously concerned about the traffic flow the new development would bring to the area.
