MONTEVALLO – The Montevallo City Council has announced a special session for Monday, March 31 at 6 p.m. for the purpose of holding a public hearing at Montevallo City Hall.

The public hearing has been called in relation to a proposed resolution authorizing the allocation of Montevallo Cooperative District Funds for assistance with the construction of a new gymnasium at Montevallo High School in conjunction with the Shelby County Schools Board of Education.

Funding for the project is in the amount of $2 million. Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed resolution during the public hearing.

The move comes after the Montevallo City Council entered an executive session to discuss an investment proposal from the Shelby County Board of Education at its previous meeting on Monday, March 24.
