PELHAM – Avid tennis fans across Pelham will have the chance to view a premier tennis tournament at the Pelham Racquet Club from Monday, May 19 to Sunday, May 25.

The Women’s Pro Classic W50, an ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour event, is set to feature rising professional players from around the world as they compete for WTA ranking points. Along with competing for points, athletes will also compete for $50,000 in prize money.

The tournament is free to the public, providing Pelham residents and tennis fans a great opportunity to witness elite-level tennis. In addition to free admission, the Pelham Racquet Club is also providing two events to augment the audience experience.

HealthMarkets Night will be hosted on Thursday, May 22 by the club. The promotion will include free hats for the first 100 spectators and two free beer tickets from Good People Brewing Company, while supplies last. Night matches start at 6 p.m., pairing with the event.

On Saturday, May 24, the club will also hold a tennis social where local players can compete in doubles matches at the same facility as the pros. The Women’s Singles Semifinals and the Women’s Doubles Final will be played directly after the social. The social, which costs $20, includes a Good People Brewing Company beer ticket and giveaways. Social play is from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Pro match play begins at 10 a.m. each day of the tournament. For more information on the Pelham Racquet Club, visit Pelhamracquetclub.com/901/Pelham-Racquet-Club.
