Chilton County investigators expect to see results from the Montevallo dog-skinning case by the end of next week, according to Sheriff Kevin Davis.

“We’re holding in a holding pattern. We’ve got the dog to send it to Florida for the autopsy,” he said.

According to Davis, the University of Florida has a forensic science program that completes forensic testing for animal cruelty cases.

“It’s one of the top places in the world to gather evidence in cases like this,” he said.

“We’re waiting to get results back on that,” he said. “It has us held up in the next steps of investigations.”
