Coosa Valley holds off fourth-quarter rally

The Coosa Valley Academy Lady Rebels held off a late charge by Edgewood to take a 40-36 win at home Dec. 4.

The Lady Rebels trailed by one after the first quarter, but scored 16 points in the second to take a 26-19 lead. Edgewood scored 12 points in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to erase an eight-point deficit.

Danielle Richardson led Coosa Valley with 17 points and 12 steals. Kaylan Rich scored 16 points with 14 rebounds and five blocks. Terrie Spayberry had 10 rebounds in the win.
