Lane closures scheduled for Highway 119

The Alabama Department of Transportation will close portions of Alabama 119 in several places throughout Shelby County over the next week.

-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, crews will close portions of Alabama 119 between Interstate 65 in Pelham and U.S. 280 in Hoover to stripe the recently repaved stretch of road. The road will reopen by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9.

The road will be closed during the same times through the night of Friday, July 12.

-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, ALDOT will close portions of Alabama 119 between the Alabaster-Montevallo city line and Shelby County 26 in Alabaster to repave the road. The road will reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 8.

The road will be closed during the same times through the night of Thursday, July 11.

-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, crews will close parts of Alabama 119 from U.S. 280 in Hoover to the Jefferson-Shelby county line to perform repaving operations. The road will reopen by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9.

The road will be closed during the same times through the night of Friday, July 12.

“Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area,” read ALDOT road advisories on the projects. “ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.”
