After a heart-wrenching loss to defending state champion Edgewood on Oct. 4, the Coosa Valley Rebels responded by taking down Evangel Christian out of Montgomery, 41-21, Oct. 11.

The Rebels hosted the contest, and treated the hometown crowd to a playoff birth with the win, leading 21-0 at half.

“It’s really exciting,” head coach Arlton Hudson said of the win, and of making the playoffs. “The kids have improved every game. I’m thrilled to death.”

The win moves CVA to 4-4 on the season, and 3-2 in region play. The Rebels will travel to Springwood Oct. 18 for a region matchup.
