Police say the argument moved outside and a physical altercation ensued. It was then Briskey allegedly shot Shepherd with a small caliber handgun. Shepherd was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are working to determine what started the fight.

Hoover Police detectives met with Shelby County District Attorney Robby Owens Dec. 2 to determine whether criminal charges would be filed against Briskey.
