No major injuries after truck overturns on Highway 26

COLUMBIANA – The driver of a white Chevrolet pickup tow truck did not suffer any major injuries after the vehicle left Shelby County 26 and overturned.

The wreck happened at about 2 p.m. on July 9 when a late-model Chevrolet pickup traveling west on Shelby County 26 left the south side of the roadway and overturned. The incident happened about a mile west of Alabama 70 in Columbiana.

A few minutes after the vehicle overturned, the driver extracted himself from the vehicle and was walking around the crash site.

Several drivers called 911 and stopped at the scene to offer assistance before Columbiana Police and Southeast Shelby County Rescue paramedics arrived to conduct a precautionary medical check of the driver.
