HELENA–Helena High School students, teachers and administrators will soon have a special opportunity to hear one of the premier motivational speakers who travels the country sharing his inspirational story.

Marc Mero, founder of the nonprofit organization Champion of Choices, Inc. will be traveling to Helena on Tuesday, Oct. 13, speaking from 9-10 a.m., to share his story and consequences on the choices people make in their lives.

The Helena Health Club is sponsoring the assembly that is sure to have a large impact on students and will open their eyes on how important the choices they make today will impact their future.

The mission of Champion of Choices is to empower students to make healthy and positive choices that lead to lifelong success, initiating personal and social change to make a difference in themselves and their communities, according to the organization’s mission statement.

Mero and his organization travel the country delivering a powerful but motivating message.

According to his biographical information, Mero experienced his first crisis at the age of 8 when his parents divorced. He grew up in a single-family home in a poor section of New York, but wrote down his dreams and goals, setting his sights on athletics.

Mero is a WCW and WWE Wrestling Champion but has also endured many tragedies in his life.

Mero’s bio says he has lost more than 30 close friends and family members largely due to lifestyle choices and negative behaviors.

Mero claims that it is his passion to improve the lives of children and teens, and many testimonials can be found on the organization’s website.

Champion of Choices has presented the popular “Choices” production at more than 1,000 schools worldwide to more than half-a-million people. Topics of discussion include bullying, peer pressure, substance abuse and suicide and more.
