A Georgia-based business with a location in Pelham was recently selected as the Stone World2015 Fabricator of the Year. Eric Tryon of Premier Surfaces was presented with the award at TISE 2016 in Las Vegas.

Criteria for the award included cooperation in sharing technology with the industry, willingness to pioneer in the use of new technology, fostering educational programs for the training of stoneworkers in industry methods and promoting technological progress through association work.

“The Stone Fabricator of the Year Award is almost like a hall of fame in a way because it’s not a thing you win year after year,” said Dara Summers, chief sales and marketing officer with the company. “It’s one of the highest honors. For our team, I think we walk taller just knowing we are part of this elite group.”

Tyron began Premier Surfaces in 2002 in Atlanta, Ga., and since its inception, he has been on the forefront of cutting edge technology, industry best practices and an intense focus on providing best in class service, according to a Jan. 27 press release.

Summers said the company was created with five values in mind: Costumer service, integrity, teamwork, positive attitude and family.

“From how new employees are hired and trained to the documented systems and processes that guide day-to-day operations, Premier Surfaces has successfully expanded into new markets, including Birmingham, Huntsville and Chattanooga, (Tenn.),” the release read.

Premier Surfaces is the recipient of many other awards and accolades, such as the Atlanta Consumer’s Choice Award from 2007 – 2015, the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Best Places to Work and tied for No. 1 Top Entrepreneur in Atlanta in 2015.

“Although I am the one receiving this award, it was a team effort,” Tyron said. “We are honored to receive this distinguished award.
