Kenneth O’Neal Farris, age 77, native and resident of Calera, passed away Tuesday, March 1, at VITAS Healthcare in Shelby Baptist Hospital, surrounded by family.

Ken graduated from Calera High School. After graduating high school he attended Auburn University. He also served as a member of the Alabama National Guard. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved life and relished time spent with family and friends.  He was an avid Auburn football fan and loved cheering for his team.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O’Neal and Clarice Stone Farris; and first wife, Pearl Carlee Farris.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Schilleci Farris; children, Lia Farris Lovoy of Jemison (David), Stacy Farris Roberts of Franklin, Tenn., (Jay), Vincent Maniscalco of Alabaster, and Maria Juliano of Alabaster (Jay); grandchildren, Leanna Juliano, Paul Lovoy, Joseph Lovoy, Lilly Roberts, and Gray Roberts; brothers, Larry Farris of Calera (Gayle), and Bobby Farris of Foley; sisters, Faye Farris Whittington of Atlanta, Ga., (Skip), Mary Lynn Farris Brandon of Alabaster, and Deborah Farris Palmer of Atlanta, GA, (Dale); close friend, Dan Neal of Foley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Shelby Memorial Gardens in Calera on Friday March 4 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Association in his honor.
