Jamboree to be held at SCHS Aug. 22-23

A football jamboree including four Shelby County teams will be held at Shelby County High School Thursday and Friday nights.
The first game of the jamboree will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Wildcat stadium between Calera and Vincent.
The format for the jamboree will be two 12-minute quarters with a break between quarters.
At 8 p.m. Thursday night Montevallo High School will face off with Isabella.
B.B. Comer, new home of former Chelsea High School head coach Butch Hudspeath, will play Fairfield at 7 p.m. Friday night.
Host Shelby County will cap the jamboree with a game against Holt Friday night at 8 p.m.
SCHS head coach Geoff Walters said the games will provide a lot of entertainment for football fans across the county.
&uot;The bands for each team will perform before their team’s game,&uot; Walters said. &uot;The games will be just like normal, regular season games except they will be a little shorter and will not have kickoffs or kick returns.&uot;
Admission to the jamboree will be $5 plus a $3 fee for parking.
Concessions will be available both nights.
&uot;This will be a good opportunity for fans to see a little football before the season starts,&uot; Walters said. &uot;We hope to have a good turnout both nights.&uot;
