Alabaster First United Methodist Church, adjacent to the Winn Dixie Shopping Center, will hold its annual fall bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured this year will be crafts and homemade goodies.
Vandiver Church of God will have its fall festival Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be games, crafts and food available.
The Church at Brook Hills will be hosting the 2002 Conference for Prison Ministry sponsored by the State of Alabama Department of Corrections on Oct. 11-12 beginning at 8 a.m. each day. Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, Attorney General Bill Pryor and other state officials will be present along with representatives of several faith-based intervention programs. Chaplains from every state prison facility will also be present. The conference will include 26 breakout sessions focused on prevention, intervention, reconciliation, restoration and life skills for individuals and ministries who work with prisoners and their families in Alabama.

CrossWay Community Church will host special missionary guest speaker Andy Toth in its worship service on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. Toth and wife, Dorciane, serve with Mexicanos Para Alcanzar al Mundo (Mexicans Reaching the World in English) in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Morningstar, a new United Methodist congregation in Chelsea, is hosting Network, a unique four-week course on discovering spiritual passions, gifts and personalities for ministry in God’s church. The church offers Network once a year. Bill Taylor and Steve West will be leading the course on four Wednesday nights beginning Oct. 9 during October from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at CHS.
