The Camp Branch United Methodist Women will be sponsoring a churchwide yard sale on Thursday, June 3 and Friday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yard sale items include household items and some clothing and furniture. The sale will be held at 2172 Highway 26. All proceeds from the sale will go to the UMW’s mission projects.

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles, located at 424 Emery Drive of Hoover, will hold its seventh annual Crawfish and Shrimp Boil on Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine.

Calvary Baptist Church in Vincent will host the Vincent-Harpersville fifth Sunday night singing on Sunday, May 30 beginning at 6 p.m. The Lambs will be the guest group.

Alabaster AGLOW will meet Thursday, May 27 at the Alabaster Depot on Highway 264 just off Highway 119. Fellowship begins at 6:30 p.m. with worship at 7 p.m. Betty McCutcheon will be on hand to minister.

Mary Conn, who recently stepped down as president of the Alabaster group, continues her 10 a.m. Thursday book study on the &uot;The Purpose-Driven Life&uot; by Rick Warren. For information, call 663-5922.

Valleydale Baptist Church is hosting its Vacation Bible School, &uot;Mission Possible: Assignment Mark 16:15,&uot; on June 7-11 from 8:45 a.m. to noon for kids who have completed K5 to fifth grade.

Alabaster First United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 21-25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children will enjoy the trip to Lava Lava Island and enjoy Bible crafts and exciting games, thrilling Bible stories, tasty snacks and unforgettable music. Wilsonville Baptist Church will host its regular fifth Sunday night singing on Sunday, May 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by several talented individuals within the church and the community.

Wilsonville Baptist Church will be holding its Vacation Bible School on June 7-11 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Children through sixth grade are invited to attend, and the theme for this year will be &uot;The Rickshaw Rally – Racing to the Son.&uot; For information, call the church office at 669-6663.

Wilsonville Baptist Church will have its annual &uot;God & Country Celebration&uot; on Sunday, June 27 beginning at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by talented individuals in the community and by special guests The Steeles, a nationally known gospel group. Fireworks will follow the musical presentation. Don’t forget your lawn chairs.

First Baptist Church of Pelham will have a block party at Valley Elementary School on Sunday, June 6 from 4-6 p.m. Entertainment will include human video and drama, puppets, jam team (acrobatics), music and dance. Valleydale Baptist Church ladies aerobics class began May 17. Ashley Dekker leads the exercises on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. in the East Gym. Cost is $2 per class, or 10-class cards are available for $15. There is no childcare.

Calera First United Methodist Church’s Junior Youth will have a church-wide yard sale on June 5 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to the building fund, and all items should be at the church by June 3. Volunteers are needed.

The JOY Club of Elliottsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church will meet June 8 instead of June 2 for a potluck lunch at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Leah Bond of the Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging. She will share information about that program.

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will host its third annual Old Fashioned Saturday on May 29 beginning at 10 a.m. Local choirs, praise dancers, drill teams, barbecue and homemade desserts will be available. The event is free. Call 665-5152 for information.

Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church will sponsor its annual Feet to the Street 5K and one-mile Fun Run on June 5. The 5K begins at 8 a.m.; the Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. All proceeds benefit international mission work. For information, visit www.ompc.org/race.

New Life Assembly of God in Westover has scheduled a 20th anniversary celebration for Sunday, July 18. They have invited former pastors, youth pastors and others to be part of this event. There will also be a New Life choir during the past 20 years. The district superintendent of Alabama, Brother Billy Glover, will be the speaker that day.
