Miss Cel’s example one to follow
Cecilia Etheredge is a woman who has made quite an impact on Shelby County.
This energetic lady celebrated her 90th birthday last Friday, Jan. 24.
Her birthday wish was simply to spend the Friday like she has so many Fridays for so many years &045; volunteering her time at a blood drive in Shelby County.
Miss Cel has donated more than 2,000 hours of her time to the Red Cross each year for the past 25 years.
That total runs well over 50,000 hours.
She has also volunteered as a poll worker for nearly every election since she moved to Pelham in the 1970s.
It is often said that someone has &uot;dedicated&uot; their life to a cause, profession or ideal.
Miss Cel has literally given much of her life to a cause she holds dear &045; volunteerism.
Shelby County is fortunate to have been graced by Cecilia Etheredge’s presence for so many years.
Unfortunately, her actions and ideas are unique.

Even if you can’t spare a dime, you can always give a little time.
Cel Etheredge sure has
