A Calera High School 10th-grader was killed in a one-vehicle accident last Friday.
Scott Warner, 15, was killed on impact Friday just after 4 p.m., according to Police Chief Jim Finn.

The juvenile passenger, he said, was transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital where he was treated and released.
Finn said the accident remains under investigation.
Calera High School counselor Lyda Bonds said Warner was &uot;a very well-liked student&uot; at CHS.

She said counselors from the Amelia Center were at the school on Monday helping students cope with the loss of their fellow student.
&uot;They’ve been helping them through poetry, writing notes,&uot; Bonds said. &uot;His mom and sister came up today, and I think that was good for the students.&uot;
Bonds said many CHS students had known Warner since beginning school in the first grade.
&uot;We’re a small school. It’s like losing one of our family members,&uot; she said
