Tourney set to benefit local charity

The 24th annual Family Connection golf tournament benefiting Family Connection will be held at Timberline Golf Club in Calera Monday, June 2.

This is the major fundraising event for Family Connection and the goal this year is $50,000. Revenus from the tournament will be used to help expand the existing residential facilities and help cover operational costs.

Entry fee is $150 per golfer, which includes green fee, cart, lunch, refreshments, beverages, tee prizes and practice balls.

The format for play is a four-man scramble. Individual entries will be paired, maximum 24 handicap on scramble program.

The field is limited to the first 120 golfers. All fees should be received by May 23. Soft spikes only.

Tee-off will be at 12:30 p.m. with registration from 10:30-12:15. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Rules and instructions will begin at 12:15. At 5 p.m. there will be heavy Hors D’oeuvres and awarding of prizes.

Complimentary refreshments will be available on the course and door prizes will be given away. Mulligans area available with a maximum of two per player at $10 each prior to tee-off. Mulligans may not be used at holes for prizes.

Timberline is located from I-65 South exit 228. At the end of the ramp, turn left and the entrance to Timberline is 400 yards on the right.

Prizes will be given for first, second, third and fourth place. Last place prize will be a one-hour golf clinic at Greystone Country Club. Closest to the pin prizes will be awarded on all five par threes. Longest fairway drive will be held on hole No. 3 for under age 50 and 51 and over.
