CSCEF helps schools prosper

Organizations such as the Greater Shelby County Education Foundation have found their niche taking up the slack our local school system faces with the state funding crunch.
With every dollar of the system’s budget going to meet specific needs, oftentimes, there are no funds for special projects.
Too many times, Shelby County teachers find themselves facing a new year with new challenges and new students but without the funds which will allow those students to learn in the most productive manner.
That’s where our local Education Foundation steps in.
The GSCEF awards grants to those teachers which will allow them to meet the needs of their students in creative and effective ways.
This is just one more way Shelby County has proven itself to be such a special place.
When faced with fundraising, the GSCEF can always count on local residents.
The organization’s most recent effort, the Crystal Gala, was a great success with ticket sales and proceeds from the silent auction allowing the Education Foundation to continue its good work.
During this time of funding crunch in the state, it is through this organization and others like it across the county that our school system will continue to prosper.
Let’s keep that in mind
