Process has been worth it

It has been written in this space many times during the past few months to be patient.

We have been and were rewarded Saturday morning when traffic once again made its way along Main Street in Columbiana.

And with that traffic came a breath of fresh air that has everyone in Shelby County’s county seat smiling.

From the newly planted crepe myrtles to the rows of brick and clean, crisp sidewalks, the downtown Columbiana renovation is well on its way to success.

The hassle of detours and months of dirt and dust flying through the air, not to mention the times phone service or water service were unintentionally severed, have all proven to be worth it.

And when we look back on this project, stand along Main Street during the Liberty Day parade and stare with pride at the result, those problems will surely just disappear from memory.

This process to a quaint downtown for our county seat will surely have been worth it.

We can’t wait to see the completely finished product
