Baptist Shelby Names Advisory Council

State Representative Mike Hill has been named named among a group of community leaders and physicans to serve on the Baptist Health System’s (BHS) hospital advisory council.

According to April Holcomb, the members will serve as a resource to the Baptist Health System Board of Trustees in making strategic decisions to further BHS’s faith-based health ministry.

Council members responsibilities include making recommendations to the BHS Board regarding hospital operating and financial goals, capital improvements and quality assurance.

In addition, they will provide input for the strategic plan of Baptist Health System.

Serving on the hospital council are:

Brenda C. Bourbon, R.N., retired BHS nursing executive; Mike Hill, owner, Cahaba Title, Inc.; Don Murphy, owner, Don Murphy Real Estate Co., Inc.; David Nolen, group vice president, business banking manager, SouthTrust; Charles Stroud, director of missions, Shelby Baptist Association; and Baptist Shelby physicians C. Dale Elliott, M.D., FACC, cardiologist; Carol Mitchell Johnson, M.D., family practice; and Robert Snyder, M.D., family practice.

Charles Colvert, Baptist Shelby president, serves as an ex-officio member.
