The best and the brightest.

That’s what this special edition is all about.

The best and the brightest of Shelby County.

It’s referred to as Progress and that’s what it’s all about – progress in industry, progress in education, progress in recreation and progress in our everyday lives.

By reading this year’s largest edition, you will learn all about Lay Lake including types of fish available and locations of marinas.

There is information about Shelby County’s eBay consignment store, the first to open in the state, and about Shelby County’s Civil Air Patrol.

There are also photos of more than 70 babies born in Shelby County during 2004.

In addition, there are articles about home-schooling and profiles of longtime Wilsonville librarian Vernice Stoudenmire and community leader John Jones of Columbiana.

We’re proud of the work we’ve done on Progress 2005 and welcome your thoughts and comments after you’ve spent time with it.

Enjoy! We certainly did
