The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department spent much of last weekend and this week investigating two home invasions.
They took place Saturday at Colonial Village Apartments on Heatherbrooke Road, according to Sheriff Chris Curry.
&uot;They were two adjacent apartments, right next to each other,&uot; Curry said.
In one invasion that occurred just before 2 p.m., a man entered the apartment of a female, and forced her into a closet at gunpoint.
&uot;A female awoke to a black male wearing black shorts and black shirt burglarizing her residence,&uot; according to a sheriff’s department press release. &uot;The female was forced into a closet at gunpoint, and the suspect left the scene. Items were taken from the residence, but no one was injured.&uot;
It is believed another person was involved, even though no description was available.
A second neighboring residence was also burglarized, though no one was home at the time. Both burglaries were by force, according to the sheriff’s department.
The investigation was ongoing late Monday afternoon, according to Curry. Anyone with information on the case can call the department’s criminal investigation division at 669-4181
