Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, organized by the Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP), will be held at Oak Mountain State Park on Oct. 2, from 1-4 p.m. The event is sponsored by Cahaba Cycles.

Besides leading rides for all abilities, BUMP members will demonstrate pre-ride bike and safety preparation as well as skill drills and demonstrations. Free refreshments and T-shirts will be provided while supplies last.

An off road style bike is recommended and helmets are required to participate. However, Cahaba Cycles and BUMP will be providing several bikes and helmets for the use of those who do not have a bike, on a first come first served basis.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
