Robert Francis Flowers

Robert Francis Flowers, 88, of Helena died Oct. 9, 2005. A longtime resident of Helena and member of the First Baptist Church, he owned and operated Flowers Auto Service in Birmingham. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Oct. 7, 1942 to Oct. 5, 1945, as a master sergeant during World War II and also during the Korean War in England in the 92nd Air Refueling Squad.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Roy Flowers; his children, Jeanie (Jerry) Stephens, Dale (Cindy) Flowers and Frances (Kris) Courson; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Service was 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Helena with burial following in Helena Cemetery, Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing
