SPECIAL TO THE REPORTER

The Church at the Well in Birmingham is giving away free $10 pre-paid gas cards to every family that visits for the first time during the month of November. The Well is a new contemporary church.

The goal of the campaign is to attract new visitors to the church as well as relieve some of the financial strain of rising gas prices.

&8220;We are so confident that our worship gathering will be the best hour of your week,&8221; said pastor Brent Birch, &8220;that we are willing to pay for your gas to get here and back.&8221;

Rising gas prices in Birmingham and across the country are causing many people to drive less and pay more for goods and services.

&8220;We don’t want something like the price of gas to be a hindrance to people connecting with God,&8221; Birch said.

During the month of November, he said, every first-time visitor will receive a free $10 pre-paid gas card &8220;with no strings attached.&8221;

The Well meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at The Rave movie theater at Lee Branch on Highway 280.

The service is a blend of contemporary music, dynamic media and inspirational messages.
