The Thompson Lady Warriors have won their first five games this season, netting wins over Carver (57-35), Talladega (52-36), Parker (67-34), Shades Valley (46-31) and Mountain Brook (53-38).
The Lady Warriors have been led by senior Tamara Williams, who’s averaging 16 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore Rhonda Watts has averaged 15.2 points per game over the five matches and is 12-of-18 from three-point range.
The Lady Warriors host the Holiday Classic beginning today at Thompson High School.
GIRLS
Bradley-Central, Tenn 45, Oak Mountain 36
Kate Jazinski led the Eagles with nine points in the loss to Bradley-Central. Oak Mountain begins competition in the Holiday Classic at Thompson High School today.
Chelsea 34, Indian Springs 24
Lindi Champion scored 13 points for the Hornets while LaTonzia Evans notched 13 points and 18 boards for Indian Springs.
Spain Park 43, Shades Valley 21
Ashley Boler scored 10 points and notched 10 rebounds for the Jaguars. Spain Park forced 27 turnovers in the game. The Lady Jags start competition in the Homewood Tournament this Friday at Homewood High School.
BOYS
Shades Valley 56, Spain Park 51
Adam Mims scored 14 points for the Jags and Chris Pitts added 11, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Shades Valley late in Friday’s contest. The Jaguars head to Vestavia Hills today to compete in the Rebel Classic.
Shelby County 73, Pinson Valley 46
Cortez Cotton notched 24 points and had 15 rebounds for the Wildcats Friday night, scoring 10 points in the third quarter. Shelby County hosts its Thanksgiving Classic starting this Thursday and going through Friday.
Indian Springs 55, Fultondale 33
Indian Springs’ John Bains hit seven three-pointers and scored Indian Springs’ first 25 points to lead his team to victory. Bains finished with 26 points and seven rebounds
