William Dale Thornburg, 51, of Shelby died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at a local hospital.

He was born June 17, 1954, in Birmingham. He grew up in Shelby and graduated from Shelby County High School. He graduated from the University of Montevallo with highest honors and received a juris doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He was assistant district attorney in Jasper and then began his private practice in 1987.

He is survived by his wife, MariRose ChrisAnna Thornburg; his brothers, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Thornburg and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Thornburg; and nieces and nephews, Christy Doll Thornburg, Chad Thornburg, Robin Lee Thornburg and Taylor Wallace Thornburg.

Service was Dec. 15 at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home with burial following at Old Shelby Cemetery, the Rev. Brent Beaird presiding.
