Runaway Eagles

Oak Mountain dominated Briarwood Christian, 53-23, in the boys final of the Shelby County Tournament Friday night, earning the title as the county&8217;s best for the second-straight season.

The top-seeded Eagles (12-1) got 11 points, three assists and three steals in the championship game from tournament-MVP Tyler Gallimore.

Scott Johnson scored 10 points for Oak Mountain with

Loy Vaughn adding seven

and Bryant Gardner contributing eight points and five rebounds for the Eagles.

Matt Robertson scored 12 points to lead Briarwood (7-4).

Shelby County (7-4) topped Montevallo (5-7) in the consolation final. The Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs 71-33.

Joining Gallimore on the boys all-tournament team were Kaderious Lacey, Calera; T.J.
