Church focus: Riverside Baptist Church

Riverside Baptist Church, a member of the Shelby Baptist Association, is located in Helena and is pastored by J.J. Stanbridge.
Stanbridge graduated from the University of Mobile in 1992 and attended Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, graduating with a master&8217;s degree in divinity in 1998. He came to Riverside in January 2004.
The church currently has about 150 members in regular attendance and offers a number of ministry opportunities for church members and the community to be involved in.
Riverside offers four different adult ministries including a Bible study ministry, a counseling ministry, a men&8217;s ministry and a senior adult ministry.
The church also offers a number of children&8217;s activities including the Riverside Christian Academy that began in April 2005 and operates as a school for home-schooled children.
Other youth ministries include an after school daycare program, an Upward Sports program, youth drama activities, teen and young adult ministries and a Christmas gift shop ministry which offers parents a chance to purchase gifts for the kids during the holiday season.
The church took mission trips to a number of areas across the U.S. and the world including Montana, Belize and Brazil in 2005.
The church also offers Jazzercise classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and on Fridays at 9 a.m.
