Joel Kim Dawkins

Joel Kim Dawkins, 43, of Calera died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at home. He was born in Alabama on Aug. 8, 1962, to Charles Calvin and Ann Dawkins.
He was a truck driver with Iron Horse. Since age 14, he had a love of music, playing multiple instruments and singing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jesse Joel Dawkins and his brother Dale Dawkins.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dawkins; his daughters, Brandi Dawkins (TJ) Pennington of Maylene and Jessica Nicole Dawkins of Calera; his brothers, Larry (Kathy) Dawkins of Douglasville, Ga., and Sammy (Gwen) Dawkins of Wilton; his sister-in-law, Lisa Dawkins of Montevallo; and one grandson, Austin Pennington.
Service was Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home with burial following in Ryans Cemetery, the Rev. Donald Jeffers presiding and Charter directing
