Holcomb recieves career award

April Clark Holcomb was selected as the Alabama Young Careerist of the Year at the Business and Professional Women (BPW) Alabama Winter Board meeting held in Cullman on

Saturday, February 25.

Holcomb competed with other young women representing other local BPW organizations around the state.

She will represent Alabama at the BPW/USA annual conference in Dallas, Texas, in July and participate with representatives from 53 federations for the BPW/USA Young Careerist title.

A BPW/USA representative will be selected based on panel judging in categories including a speech, personal interview, group presentation and a biographical sketch with essay questions.

The Virginia Allen Young Careerist Program is a high profile Business and Professional Women/USA program that recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of successful individuals.

Holcomb received her Bachelor&8217;s degree in Business Administration from the University Of Alabama in 1993 and began her career at Bibb Medical Center where she was very active in many local organizations and functions.

In 1997, she became a registered nurse and become more involved in health specific issues.

In 1999, she joined Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham and was promoted to Director of Public, Community and Government Relations.

She Joined the Baptist Health System in 2002 and currently is a member of the Administrative

Team at Shelby Baptist Medical Center where she is the Director of Strategic Planning and Marketing.

She will receive her MBA this spring.

Holcomb has been very involved in the

political arena at both the state and local levels
