Helena resident Peter McManus, 41, was arrested and charged with one count of possessing child pornography on Tuesday.

McManus, who owns Atlas Chiropractic in Pelham, was charged with possessing &uot;obscene matter containing visual reproductions of a person under the age of 17,&uot; a Helena police statement said.

According to the statement, an un-named source told officers that McManus had a number of child pornographic images on his home computer. Officers were able to secure a warrant to search the computer, and upon doing so, found images meeting the above description.

A search warrant was also released for the computers used at McManus’ clinic on Valleydale Road, but no information was given on whether similar material was found on those machines.

McManus is currently being held in the Shelby County Sheriff’s jail on $500,000 bond
