Montevallo chamber, rotary recognize citizens

Emily Pendleton is Montevallo Citizen of the Year, and Montevallo Mayor Sharon Anderson is Montevallo Civic Leader of the Year.

The two winners were announced during the 28th Annual Citizens&8217; Night Banquet, sponsored by the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce and Montevallo Rotary Club and

held last Friday at the University of Montevallo.

David R. Aiken, chairman of the board of the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce, recognized Pendleton. And Ben McCrory, president of the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce, recognized Anderson.

Sandra Lott, co-president of the Montevallo Branch of the AAUW, recognized Judy Rogers as the AAUW Pathfinder Award winner.

Anderson presented Cheryl Davis the Friend of Montevallo Award in memory of Wayne Davis.

UM president Dr. Robert McChesney recognized Scott Davis as the Montevallo Good Neighbor Award winner.

McCrory, who also serves as president of the Rotary Club, recognized Luke Smith as Rotarian of the Year.

And Aiken recognized Ken Jones as Chamber Service Award winner.

Christine Hoffman, principal of Montevallo Elementary School recognized Sue Thurmond as MES Teacher of the Year and Landon Goodwin as MES Youth of the Year.

Vanessa Nason, principal of Montevallo Middle School, recognized

Raynette Ellison as MMS Teacher of the Year and Heather Lawley as MMS Youth of the Year.

And Judy Simmons, principal at Montevallo High School, recognized Keith Adair as MHS Teacher of the Year and Corbin Walker as MHS Youth of the Year.

McCrory presented Jillian Massie with the Robert E. Hawkins Scholarship Award.

And Freddie Ford, chairman of the Civitan Awards Committee presented Linda Cicero with the Civitan Club Award
