Student of the Week: Chance Davis

Chance Davis, an 11-year-old fifth grader at Wilsonville Elementary is Shelby County Reporter Student of the Week.
Wilsonville Elementary Principal Rosemary Liveoak selected him for the honor.
Administrator Jason Tiffin said Chance was chosen because, &8220;He tries extremely hard in all his subjects.&8221;
And, he said, Chance, &8220;leads by his actions.&8221;
Chance is the son of Heath Davis. He is the grandson of Evelyn Davis, Kenneth Davis, Donna Dennis and Tony Bentley.
Chance also has one sister, Brook, age 13.
Chance said his favorite subject in school is math because it is the easiest for him. He also said he likes to add and to solve problems.
He said his favorite teacher is Dee Pinkleton, who teaches kindergarten at Wilsonville Elementary, because &8220;She&8217;s in a lot of technology stuff, and she&8217;s nice.&8221;
Chance said he has been a Good Citizen of Year every year since kindergarten and he has been on the AB honor roll as well.
He said he likes to hunt and fish and play baseball.
Playing in the Wilsonville Dixie Youth League, Chance said he pitches, catches and plays first base.
He also said he likes to play video games.
Chance said his dad is his favorite superhero because, &8220;He does a lot with me and takes me hunting and fishing and to baseball practice.&8221;
Chance said he would like to play professional baseball one day.
That is … after he goes to college at the University of Alabama
