When the Shelby County Track and Field Championships came to a close on Monday, the Oak Mountain Lady Eagles found themselves in first place in every event.

The OMHS girls finished with a score of 319 points – a full 200 points ahead of second place (Pelham).

The Eagles&8217; Mary Grace Decastra and Sarah Bond tied as the girls&8217; MVP for the meet, with each athlete finishing in the top three in three separate events.

Decastra took home first place in the girl&8217;s high jump and pole vault and second in the triple jump while Bond swept the girls&8217; hurdle events for two first place finishes and finished second in the girls&8217; long jump.

The Eagles Lindy Gfeller finished with three first place finishes at the meet. Gfeller won all three individual sprint events for the Lady Eagles, taking first in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes.

Briarwood&8217;s Barrett Trotter earned the boy&8217;s MVP award, finishing first in the boys&8217; javelin throw, second in the 100-meter high hurdles and third in the 300-meter hurdles.
