Pelham police stop burglary of pizza business

A Pelham Policeman recently helped stop a burglary in process, according to Lt. Larry Palmer of the Pelham Police Department.

Palmer said an officer caught a suspect inside a business off Highway 31.

Palmer said there had been some burglaries in offices and businesses, which yielded little or no evidence.

But Pelham Police were increasing their patrols.

Palmer said a unit received an alarm call. But could not tell anything was out of place. However, the officer noticed a back door to an empty business was open.

Palmer said the officer saw where the suspect had gone through the wall of the empty business and was inside Alfredo&8217;s Pizza.

He said the suspect, Iberaheem Kahlout, 26 of Pelham, was arrested and charged with burglary and is being held in the Shelby County Jail.
