Doris C. Howard

Funeral services from Doris C. Howard of Sterrett were held Monday, June 12, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church. Visitation was Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home Pell City.
Mrs. Howard taught school for 15 years as a teachers aid and taught Sunday school at Beulah for 40 years.
During World War II, she was issued a defense certificate and was principle at Vandiver Elementary School. She also worked on b-24 bombers during WWII. She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by one son, Barry Howard of Sterrett; two daughters, Jean Ingram of Lincoln and Judy Rhodes of Hueytown; brother, Alvin Churchwell of Sterrett; five grandchildren, Stephen Allison, Julianne Wells, David Rhodes, Brian Rhodes and Lisa Marie Pate; and great-granddaughter Courtney Wells. She is preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Howard
