Jimmy Washington, born in Alabama on Friday, Sept. 25, 1942, passed away on Friday, June 16,2006 at the age of 63.

He was a resident of Calera, Ala.

Funeral services were held at Charter Funeral Home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Shelby Memorial Gardens. Rev. Terry Harris officiated. Visitation was held on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pop and Annie Grace Washington. His survivors include his wife, Kathy Washington; daughters, Donna Allen (Darrell) of Alabaster; Lisa Strickland (Lee) of Hoover; and Jennifer Ray (Randy) of Calera; sons, Norman Washington, Jr (Maria) of Birmingham; and Jeff Washington (Amy) of Calera; sisters, Ila Young of Calera; and Jeanette Cleckler (Charles) of McCalla; brother, Frankie Washington of Shelby; and 14 grandchildren, Matt, Stephen, Kimberly, Shahn, Meghan, SaVanna, Dakota, Josh, Christopher, Nicholys, Andrew, Thomas, Austin, Daniel and Nichole. Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera, Ala
