UM freshmen earn honors

Nine University of Montevallo students from Shelby County were recognized at Honors Day Convocation for receiving Freshman Honors Scholarships.

Heather Arnold of Helena, Erin Aslin and Rosemary Maguire of Montevallo, Audrey Fulghum of Alabaster, Jessica Langevin, Jillian Littlefield and Greer Stanton of Hoover, Heather Morrison of Calera and Christopher West of Pelham were recognized.

Freshman Honors Scholarships are presented to freshmen on the basis of academic achievement, which includes high school grade point averages and test scores.

The scholarships are renewable by maintaining at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
