Charles Edmond Browning

Charles Edmond Browning, age 78, of Pelham, passed away on June 25, 2006. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University). He worked from Sullivan, Long and Hagerty General Contractors for 40 years where he was Construction Superintendent before retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Air Force at the end of World War II. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Henry Browning Jr. and Gerald Hodby Browning. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Barkley Browning; son John Dow Browning and his wife, Patti; three sisters, Ms. Billie R. Peace of Midway, Ga., Mrs. Frances Thomas (Harold) of Ringold, Ga., and Mrs. Marguerite Weatherly of Americas, Ga. and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Browning of Montgomery and Ms. Patsy Browning of Wetumpka. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Ridout&8217;s Southern Heritage with burial in Southern Heritage Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth R.
