On July 14, a suspect in the Calera Elementary School break-in was arrested and is being held in the Shelby County Jail.

Timmy Keith Durham, age 29, of Calera is being held on a $22,500 bond. He is being charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft of property from Calera Elementary School between July 8-9.

This break-in is the second at Calera Elementary School in seven months. Captain Rick Rollan of the Calera Police Department said Durham could be connected to both.

In the July 8-9 burglary, the suspect forcibly entered the building through a window in the back of the building and stole laptops, cameras, cash from vending machines and other electronics.

Many of the items have been found and will be returned to Calera Elementary.
