Funeral service for Stanley Chesser Sr., age 67 of Shelby, were at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Liberty Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home. Mr. Chesser, who passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at home, was born on January 27, 1939 in Jefferson County, AL. He was a loving father and husband who will be truly missed.

Mr. Chesser was a longtime resident of Chelsea, AL and was retired from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Margaret Chesser and a sister, Sara Chesser.

He is survived by his wife, Laura M. Chesser; children, Stanley Chesser, Jr., Susan Chesser, Steve (Gina) Chesser; grandchildren, Matt, Mandy, Katie, Chris, Juddy, Justin, Jamie; step-children, Sheila (Mike) Weldon, Von (Coya) Fancher, Keith (Tammy) Fancher; step grandchildren, Mia, John, Jake, Nick, Alex, Taylor and Gray.
