The town of Harpersville has hired Wade Holley to be its next fire chief.

Holley, who has served on the department for three years, took over the top job on Aug. 15, the day after being approved by the town council. Holley has also worked with the Rocky Ridge and Bessemer departments.

Mayor Theoangelo Perkins said that Holley has done a great job for the department and that Harpersville residents &8220;look forward to the fire department to continue growing.&8221;

Holley replaces Interim Chief Barry Adair, who Perkins thanked &8220;for stepping in and doing a wonderful job.&8221;
