The Thompson Warriors went on the road Friday and defeated Florence 28-15.

Head Warrior football coach Brian Maner said of the contest, &8220;I though our kids played hard. It was a really good way to start the season.&8221;

But Maner is more concerned about region play, he said.

&8220;I want them (Thompson players) to enjoy this win, but also we&8217;ve got to get ready for Hueytown.&8221;

Maner was reluctant to name individual standouts at Flornce opting to call it a &8220;team win.&8221; He said he had a lot of players who participated in the victory.

Thompson quarterback Alan Reeves, however, completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Chris Johnson and scored two touchdowns on the ground on runs of 14 and 11 yards
