Funeral service for Billy A. Whitten Sr., 79, of Fourmile, was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006 at Fourmile Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Fourmile Cemetery.

Mr. Whitten, who passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at a local hospital, was born on Feb. 13, 1927 in Clyde, Miss.

He was a member of Fourmile Baptist Church and was retired from Kimberly Clark Corp. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Nell Whitten.

He is survived by his children, Butch and Ann of Shelby, Donna of Fourmile, Edwin and Janice of Slidell, La., Ann of Fourmile and Harold and Kelly of Alabaster; grandchildren, Taylor and Mary Grace of Alabaster, Jimmy and Beth of Calera and Josh of Baton Rouge, La.; great grandchildren, Shawn, Seth and Shaylee of Calera; brothers, Grady (Catherine) of Wilsonville, Don (Emma) of Montevallo and sisters, Pat Mack of Swansea, S.C. and Sarah Odell of Leesburg, Fla.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Shelby Baptist Association Ministry Center, Shelby Baptist Association Century Club or the Gideons International Memorial Bibles. Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directed.
