MF bank announces Liberty Day sponsorship

Columbiana&8217;s Liberty Day celebration has a title sponsor for at least the next three years.
Officials from M&F Bank announced last Thursday at the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon that the bank has signed on for another three years after hosting the 21st annual Liberty Day in June.
&8220;M&F is focused on increasing its community service and involvement in the surrounding area,&8221; President and CEO for M&F Bank of Shelby County Randall Fields said following the announcement.
&8220;The thing that hit us after this year&8217;s event was the appreciation that locals from around the area have for this event.&8221;
Columbiana Mayor Allan Lowe said he was grateful to the bank for extending their sponsorship.
&8220;From the very first day they have been supportive of this community,&8221; Lowe said. &8220;I&8217;m tickled to death that we have them for three more years.&8221;
The bank was responsible for sponsoring a large number of the events that took place during this year&8217;s Liberty Day event, including a barbecue on Friday evening to kick off the weekend celebration.
&8220;Liberty Day is a great opportunity for people to give back to the community,&8221; Lowe said. &8220;M&F Bank has set the standard that other businesses should follow.&8221;
Liberty Day 2007 is scheduled for the June 30
