Dollie Bell Peter

Dollie Bell Peters, age 82, a longtime resident of Calera, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2006.

Mrs. Peters was born in Alabama on Oct. 6, 1923, the daughter of the late Mr. Walter Cost and Mrs. Ethel Martin Cost. She spent her life taking care of her family and home.

Graveside Services were held in Shelby Memory Gardens on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with burial in Shelby Memory. Visitation was held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Kay Downs, a son, John Walter Peters and a granddaughter, Angel Peters. Survivors of Mrs. Peters include her daughter, Wanda Peters of Calera; sons, Jimmy Peters and his wife, Becky of Decatur and Bill Peters of Calera; sister, Delyn Cost of Jemison; and three grandchildren, Chris Peters, Dallas Downs and Dusty Downs. She is also survived by her son-in-law, David Downs and daughter-in-law, Diane Peters and other family members and many friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera
