Do your part during breast cancer awareness month

In college, my sorority&8217;s philanthropy was breast cancer awareness. Whether your feelings on the Greek systems in universities is positive or negative, there&8217;s no denying the impact these organizations have on their philanthropies and service projects.

Every year, my sorority participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure and ran cheered and volunteered our help before and after the race. Also, every week girls made baskets with toiletry items and gave them to breast cancer patients in local hospitals.

Now, if a bunch of college girls could make a difference, surely county commissioners, bank tellers, pharmacists and business owners can do something outstanding.

Finding a cure on our part can be as easy as licking a lid of Yoplait yogurt, getting some exercise on a Saturday morning or writing a check instead of eating lunch out.
