The 6A Spain Park Jaguars (2-2, 1-2) fell to Vestavia Hills on the road 35-14 in a tough region football game last Friday night.

Vestavia took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Jaguars finally managed to dent the scoreboard in the second quarter when Justin Diliberto took in a 7-yard pass from Cody Wells and Ben Meadows added the point after.

James Willis also scored for Spain Park on a 1-yard burst.

Wells completed 18 of 29 passes for the Jaguars for those 197 yards and a touchdown.

Eli Smith led the Jaguars with 92 yards on 13 carries while Willis had 62 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

Spain Park will travel to play 6A Bob Jones in a non-region match this Friday.
